Seattle Strong Fitness

Seattle Strong Fitness is a movement based company where you will learn the principles of strength, functional movement, and Whole30 nutritional concepts.

Strength is an attitude. It has purpose “that makes all other values possible.” As a “student of strength,” I coach other students through practicing and perfecting foundational movements. Grinds and ballistics are as true on the workout floor as they are in life. Marrying the concepts of StrongFirst and the Functional Movement System have helped me create a system specific for each student to navigate their strength in their everyday life.

Girls Gone Strong

Keepin' it real.

If you believe what popular health and fitness magazines are selling you, it’s totally normal to walk around with killer 6-pack abs, ripped arms, crazy lean (and smooth) legs, dimple and stretch-mark free skin, and not a freckle, mole, or scar in sight, right?

The women on the covers of these magazines have been slimmed, trimmed, sculpted, lifted, smoothed, shaped, and colored to appear unattainably flawless, and this is the ONLY version of “fit and healthy” we are presented with.

This is not OK.

This perpetuates the belief that there's something wrong with our bodies that “must be fixed” — we won’t stand for it anymore.

Women of all shapes and levels of fitness — even women who train for a living, who are often looked to as examples of the "super fit" or "perfect" physique — struggle with body image issues.

It takes practice to create a loving and compassionate relationship with your body, especially when you're constantly flooded with images and language that fuel just the opposite kind of relationship.

In this article, over a dozen female health and fitness professionals share very raw, real, and untouched images of their own bodies — cellulite, stretch marks, and all — and discuss their own journeys of body embracement and how they got to a place of loving themselves, perceived “imperfections” and all.

Finally on the other end if a nasty cold that kept me from swinging last week. However, today showed the benefits of rest.

The second 500 was without parking the bell.

Warmed up with a 5 minute continuous swing test. About 400ish swings. Then I proceeded to attempt another 500 but only got 200 in. So, I'm counting another 500 for the books! #getitdone

Day 10! Halfway I'm feeling like im rockin' and rollin'! Did every 100 #swings with a different #kettlebell starting with the 20kg and ending with a 12kg. I added #presses with each size after each set. This session was the most rewarding.
