It's tough to say what traits we will show in the face of tragedy, however we can practice resilience everyday in small ways and focus on positive thinking to pull us through anything we face.

What's the deal with sugar?

Recent documentaries and food activists have spoken out about free sugars being equal to or worse than cocaine. This is due to its addictive qualities and the negative effects it has on our body...hello #1 cause of obesity.

Sugar is packed into everything we eat. Most processed foods contain some form of free sugars such as fructose, glucose, sucrose..etc.

The World Health Organization recommends that the average adult intake no more than 25 grams of sugar per day. The USDA recommends 32 grams per day... But get this! The average American eats around 130 grams of sugar each day.

Know what you're eating. Read the label, calculate how much sugar you are consuming and decide if it's worth it.

People in Asian cultures have been eating soy for thousands of years and it has been proven to benefit their health...

The difference however between fermented and unfermented soy is paramount! Research shows that soy products consumed in Asian cultures use fermented soy. Much of the soy we have access to is full of antinutrients which cause inflammation, accelerated aging and quite a few other problems. Try out alternatives like coconut or almond milk.
